On Day 2 of our Grand Canyon exploration, we decided to drive to the various points along the rest of the Orange Route. We stopped to explore Indian Watchtower at Desert View, which is on the opposite end of the Orange Route as Mather Point, where we started the day before. This 70 foot stone tower sits high on top of the South Rim, giving sweeping views of the Canyon below. Its circular structure is built to resemble that of the Ancient Pueblo people's watchtowers, with balconies and lookouts into the Canyon.
