Next to the Central Fire Station parking lot stands this historic brick building, with its metal fire escape. Built in 1881, in the High Victorian Gothic Style, is the 400 block of Jefferson Street,originally housing a dry goods store, crockery and glassware store, and piano and organ shop. Currently residing in this building within the Downtown Commercial Historic District is the Berthel Fisher office, Awesm 1 Comic Books and More, Tattered Parasol, and the Paint Pottery, next door to Weird Haorld's. One can see all these shops while strolling along historic Jefferson Street.
