Opem-und Schauspielhuas

Traveling photos from Iowa to Ukraine, via Germany and Hungary. This was my first trip to Europe, and it was an experience of a lifetime. Hopefully the first of many.  These photos were taken in Frankfurt, Germany during a 14 hour layover. The Opem-und Schauspielhuas, or Oper Frankfurt (Frankfurt Opera and Drama House) is a splendid building.  As we strolled along Willy-Brandt Plaza, we could hear the delightful music coming from inside. On the front of the building is a sign which reads: "Dem Wahren, Schönen, Guten".  Translated, it says: "To the true, the beautiful, the good".
