Zion United Church of Christ

Standing on Fifth Street, looking down toward Washington St, are lovely views of church steeples and brick buildings. Running along Fifth St stands Zion Church of Christ, housing the second German evangelical congregation in Burlington. This building was built in 1864, and the church bell received in 1876. This area is in The Heritage Hill Historic District.

More recently, this building fell to an arsonist's fire in April 2007. After a lengthy rebuilding project, First United Methodist Church reopened its doors in August 2013, This building is in The Heritage Hill Historic District.
